About RSAT

RSAT is the abbreviation of Remote Server Administration Tools, which can realize the daily management of AD on Windows client computers. WinXP/7/10 has a corresponding version of RAST, which can be downloaded officially from Microsoft as needed.

At present, almost all Win7 in enterprises have been upgraded to Win1. This document takes installing RSAT on Win10 as an example to explain how to install and use it.

Installation steps

1. Determine the Win10 version

Check the Win10 version, if Version is a new version of 1809 or later, you don't need to download it manually, install it directly by FoD (on demand), and write another document after we upgrade Win10 to 1809. If it is before 1809, you need to download it from Microsoft officially:

Check the corresponding version of RSAT and click Next to start the download:

3. Manual installation

Use administrator privileges to complete the installation at the default settings:

After installation, all RSAT tool shortcuts are under Administrative Tools:

5. Usage

Take Active Directory Users and Computers as an example, we preset a dedicated IT account for AD daily management. Press and hold the Shift button while right-clicking the mouse, and select Run as an different user to switch to run RSAT for AD's daily management account:

Then enter the account and password with AD management authority and click OK:

3. After the Active Directory Users and Computers is running, you can manage it on a daily basis:
