CTOnews.com, Jan. 20 (Xinhua)-- e-commerce giant Amazon said on Thursday it will raise the price of some of its music subscription plans from February, Reuters reported.

According to the company's FAQ page, the price of Amazon Music's unlimited individual plan will rise by $1 to $10.99 a month (currently about 75 yuan), while its unlimited individual student program will rise from $4.99 to $5.99 a month, according to the company's FAQ page.

CTOnews.com learned that the updated price for Amazon Music will take effect from February 21, and customers will start to see the new price on their bills after that date.

Amazon raised the price of its music streaming service to Amazon Prime members in May last year, according to The Verge.

In February last year, Amazon raised the price of its annual US Prime package by 17% to offset higher transportation and wage costs. Prices were then raised in Europe in July.
