CTOnews.com, January 20, Microsoft today released Windows 11 preview versions of Build 22621.1180 and Build 22623.1180 (KB5022363) for Beta channels. Among them, Build 22623.1180 introduces new features, and Build 22621.1180 turns off new features by default.

Reminder: internal testers who previously used Build 22622 will automatically transfer to Build 22623 by enabling packages. The enabling package artificially increases the updated build number, and new features are introduced and enabled to make it easier to distinguish them from updated devices that turn off functionality by default. This method is for Beta channels only and does not represent any changes or plans for the final feature launch.

By default, internal testers who turn off the new feature (Build 22621.xxxx) can check for updates and choose to install the update (Build 22623.xxx) that will introduce the feature.

New features in Build 22621.1180 and 22623.1180 update cloud storage in the settings of Windows 11

In today's version, the Settings application supports the display of new visual effects on the accounts page to provide a visual overview of users' cloud storage usage in Microsoft products. The new visual effects include an integrated cloud storage bar that shows the storage usage of each product and notifies you when there is insufficient storage space. Microsoft removed the quota bar from the subscription card to eliminate the repetition of these visual effects. Outlook attachment data will be included in cloud storage, as shown in the visual effects in today's version. This change will be rolled out gradually from a small number of internal testers, so not everyone can see it immediately. Users may see alerts about storage usage; however, it will not affect users' storage capacity until February 1, 2023 at the earliest.
