CTOnews.com January 20 news, Twitter (Twitter) recently released the "Developer Agreement" updated terms, explicitly do not allow developers to continue to develop third-party Twitter applications. Explicitly mention in the terms that developers are not allowed to "create alternative or similar services/products for Twitter apps."

This means that third-party Twitter applications such as Tweetbot, Twitterrific, Aviary, Echofon, Birdie, etc. are no longer working properly, and it is unclear whether these third-party clients will be able to resume access in the future.

CTOnews.com has learned that Twitter officials quietly tweaked its API last Thursday, causing a large number of third-party clients to fail to function properly. Twitter tweeted on January 18 that "Twitter is enforcing its long-standing API rules. This may cause some applications to fail to function."

Throughout the process, third-party client developers never received any notifications from Twitter, nor did they receive official letters asking for closure. Twitter doesn't even officially specify which APIs it violates.
