CTOnews.com, January 19, LG released a new generation of OLED TV on CES this year, equipped with the latest third-generation OLED TV panel. According to LG Display's official news, its third-generation OLED TV panel product uses a new and innovative technology-META Technology.

According to LG Display, the new META Technology is a technology that combines microlenses to maximize the luminous release of organic matter and enhanced luminance algorithm technology to improve energy efficiency by about 22% and achieve OLED brightness and viewing angle to exceed again. The screen brightness and viewing angle of the products applied by this technology have been improved by 60% and 30%, respectively.

In detail, the third-generation OLED TV panel announced by LG Display will greatly increase the maximum brightness of previous products from 1300nit to 2100nit (HDR standard), achieving the highest brightness in the existing OLED TV panel. In addition, with the advantage of perfect black in OLED and the super brightness brought by META Technology, this panel can not only accurately express natural light and color accuracy, restore the color and feeling of the original work, but also create a seamless sense of immersion between virtual and reality.

LG Display said that so far, a considerable part of the light generated by the organic light-emitting layer can not be transmitted because of the internal reflection of the panel, so there are some limitations in improving the brightness. LG Display overcomes this problem through microlens array (MLA, Micro Lens Array). The technology is to evaporate self-luminous organic matter on the tiny protruding lens pattern that is invisible to the eye, so as to achieve the maximum luminous effect. based on the same brightness, the energy efficiency of this difficult technology is improved by about 22%.

CTOnews.com learned that LG Display will be equipped with Meta Technology on high-end OLED TV panels such as 4K 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch and 8K 77-inch and 8K 77-inch and 88-inch TVs mass produced this year, and will expand to the entire product lineup in the future.
