Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com January 20 news, Counterpoint released a report today that in the fourth quarter of 2022, global PC shipments fell 27.8% year-on-year to 65.2 million units, a record low.

Inventories at several OEM and ODM manufacturers are likely to peak in the third quarter of 2022, but the year-end shopping season will not be able to boost PC shipments in the fourth quarter, the report said. Total PC shipments in 2022 were 286 million units, which further confirmed the weak demand in the global PC market, with shipments declining year-on-year for four consecutive quarters. No big rebound is expected in the first half of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Counterpoint said macroeconomic resistance, rising inflationary pressures and poor demand in the PC market had an impact on the global PC market in 2022, with shipments falling 15 per cent from a year earlier.

Lenovo's market share remained at 23.7% in the fourth quarter of 2022; its shipments fell 17% year-on-year in 2022, with a market share of 23.7%.

HP's (HPQ) market share was 20.3% in the fourth quarter of 2022, with shipments down 29% from a year earlier. HP shipments fell the most in 2022, with a market share of less than 20%.

Dell's market share fell to 16.7%, its lowest level in the past seven quarters, mainly due to a slowdown in corporate demand.

Apple (AAPL) shipments fell slightly by 3% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2022, ending the year with flat shipments.
