CTOnews.com, January 19, the first domestic V-type 12-cylinder direct injection turbocharged (V12TD) engine independently designed by FAW was successfully trial-produced in the trial-production Department of the vehicle Development Institute of the General Research and Development Institute.

▲ Touyuan: FAW Group official CTOnews.com learned that the V12TD engine is based on the only new upgrade of Red Flag V12 platform in China, maximum power 560kW, maximum torque 1100Nm, and will be equipped with hybrid system matching vehicle application in the future, tailored for Red Flag top cars.

According to reports, the V12TD project team, guided by the power demand of Red Flag top cars, concentrated its efforts on tackling key core technologies such as the design of super-power combustion system, two-row consistency control of V-type machines, the development of dual-ECU autonomous electronic control system, and the trial production of high-precision 3C parts, successfully completed technical breakthroughs in key systems such as combustion and ventilation, and achieved international leadership in performance indicators. At the same time, it breaks down the foreign manufacturing technical barriers, overcomes the manufacturing problems in the industry, and makes all the high-precision 3C pieces self-made.
