CTOnews.com, January 19, according to Google's latest official Android distribution data, Android 13 runs on all devices five months after its release.

Android used to maintain a monthly pace to inform developers of how many potential devices are running on specific versions of the operating system, which has become an irregular event for Android Studio in recent years. The last update was in August last year, a few days before the release of Android 13.

The current report marks the first update of the 2023 distribution map, giving us a preliminary understanding of the speed at which Android 13 is delivered to devices. According to Android Studio, devices running Android 13 currently account for 5.2% of all devices. Meanwhile, Android 12 and 12L now account for 18.9% of the total, up from 13.5% in August.

It is worth noting that while Google's chart does contain detailed information about Android 13, it does not distinguish between Android 12 and 12L. CTOnews.com learned that in older versions, Android Oreo usage eventually fell below 10 per cent, with a similar percentage decline in the future. Android Jelly Bean, with a previous weight of 0.3 per cent, was no longer listed, while KitKat fell from 0.9 per cent to 0.7 per cent.

There is no doubt that the speed of adoption of Android 13 is due in part to the rapid launch of updates by handset makers such as Google, Samsung, Yijia and Sony.

This data is generally based on Android devices that visit the Google Play store within a week. Although the data now exists in Android Studio, we assume that these numbers are based on the same metrics.
