January 19 news, according to foreign media reports, optical lens supplier GSEO (Yujing Optoelectronics) plans to start shipping lens modules for Apple's upcoming AR / VR head display as early as next month.

For years, it has been rumored that Apple is actively developing some form of AR / VR head display or smart glasses. Rumor has it that Apple's AR / VR head is similar to the Oculus Quest in design, but has a more stylish appearance, uses fabrics and lightweight materials, and is very comfortable to wear.

Earlier this month, foreign media reported that the device will be equipped with a physical dial that can be used to switch to the real world (VR can be turned on and off), a battery pack installed at the waist, a small motor that can automatically adjust the lens, and so on. In addition, it will use the same H2 chip as the second-generation AirPods Pro, which can achieve "ultra-low latency mode" when two devices are connected.

The headset is rumored to be called "Reality Pro" and will be released this fall. Earlier this year, foreign media reported that Apple supplier Pegatron would begin mass production of the headset in March 2023.

Today, GSEO's supply chain manufacturer said Yujing Optoelectronics will supply lens modules for Apple's VR headset, which will be launched in 2023, and will start shipping from February to March 2023.

Yujing Optoelectronics was founded in 1990, mainly produces a variety of glass lenses, spherical and aspheric plastic lenses, lenses, as well as customer commissioned lens design, development and production. In the second half of 2009, the company passed Apple's supplier certification and became the second supplier of lenses for Apple's CMOS camera module.
