In the most recent version, Microsoft WSL upgraded to a stable kernel version v5.15.79.1 and made a number of Bug fixes.

WSL allows developers to run the GNU / Linux environment directly on Windows. Through WSL, developers can install Linux distributions (such as Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Kali, Debian, Arch Linux, etc.) and use Linux applications, utilities and Bash command-line tools directly on Windows without any modification or expense of traditional virtual machines or dual boot settings.
