Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 19, according to DigiTimes, Apple plans to release a new MacBook Air in the second half of 2023, possibly with an 3nm chip.

The chip may be Apple's next-generation M3 chip, which will provide faster performance and higher energy efficiency than Apple's current 5nm chip.

"the supply chain is more focused on the more affordable MacBook Air, which is expected to be updated in the second half of 2023 and may be equipped with 3nm processors," the report quoted industry sources as saying. The report does not provide any additional details about MacBook Air, nor does it provide a more specific release schedule.

Apple's chip manufacturing partner TSMC began mass production of 3nm chips in late December 2022, and the M3 chip in the next-generation MacBook Air may be one of Apple's first 3nm chips later this year, the same as the A17 bionic chip in iPhone 15 Pro.

Earlier this week, Apple analyst Guo Mingyi claimed that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will also be equipped with 3nm M3 Pro and M3 Max chips in 2024.

In addition, multiple sources show that Apple is developing a 15-inch MacBook Air with a M2 Pro chip and a 67W power adapter, also known as bangs.

CTOnews.com learned that the current MacBook Air with M2 chip was released in July 2022 and adopted a new design, including bangs, MagSafe charging, 1080p camera and so on. Apple continues to sell MacBook Air with M1 chips.
