Microsoft's 10,000 layoffs have spread to the gaming division, including Bethesda Game Studios (Bethesda Game Studios), the developer of the Ancient Scroll and radiation series, and 343Industries, the developer of Halo: infinity, according to Bloomberg.

Renee Sogueco, Bethesda's public relations manager, wrote: "well, it happened! today, I was fired by Bethesda because of Microsoft layoffs, so now I'm back in the market... I'm looking forward to what happens next."

Kevin Schmitt, the senior designer of Halo: infinity, also confirmed that he was fired along with video producer Jesse Stipek and community manager Sam Luanghot of Ancient Scrolls Online.

Microsoft said the layoffs were "in response to macroeconomic conditions and changing customer priorities". Microsoft is deliberately targeting employees it believes are "underperforming" at least in some parts of the company, according to a report released Wednesday by Business Insider.
