CTOnews.com, January 18, Apple Mac mini products finally ushered in an upgrade, with processors from M1 to M2 and M2 Pro, with a top specification of 12-core CPU + 19-core GPU, close to the basic version of Mac Studio (10-core CPU + 24-core GPU).

Apple listed the performance comparison between the M2 Mac mini and the older model on its website.

First, in the photo processor test, Apple used the Intel i7 Mac mini released many years ago as a benchmark, and the M2 and M2 Pro Mac mini achieved 3.5 and 4.7 times the performance, respectively. In the chart, the performance of the M1 Mac mini is not as good as the 27-inch i7 + Radeon Pro 5500 XT iMac, but the M2 Mac mini surpasses and the M2 Pro takes the lead.

In the Excel software test, the M2 and M2 Pro version Mac mini has a smaller improvement than the previous generation M1 model, and nearly double the improvement compared with the i7 Mac mini.

In Apple's own Final Cut Pro software, the M2 and M2 Pro versions of Mac mini, which are supported by a new neural network engine and media engine, are 18.8 times higher than those of i7.

Generally speaking, the M2 Mac mini of 8-core CPU + 10-core GPU is a regular upgrade of M1 model, and the 8+256GB price is 4499 yuan, which is a good choice for audio-visual and light office use. The performance of M2 Pro Mac mini with 12-core CPU + 19 GPU has been greatly improved, with a starting price of 12249 yuan, which is suitable for picture and video editing.
