According to the World Health Organization, nearly 30% of brain-related diseases add up to more than cardiovascular disease and cancer. It is not clear how Alzheimer's disease, depression, Parkinson's disease, addiction and so on come from.

If scientists figure out the pathogenesis of the disease, it will be too late for patients and the social burden will be too great. Therefore, if we can give early warning and early diagnosis of the disease, we can intervene early. For example, explore the pathogenesis and neural circuit of Alzheimer's disease, carry out early intervention to prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease, and reduce the burden of medical treatment. Secondly, with reference to the working principle of brain intelligence and the structure of brain network, brain-like artificial intelligence can further improve its ability to deal with a variety of complex information.

At present, the state strongly supports brain science and brain-like research. the 13th five-year Plan proposes to strengthen basic cutting-edge scientific research such as brain and cognition. In 2021, brain science and brain-like research will be included in the "2030 house-major project of scientific and technological innovation", with a total of 59 guidelines and an estimated budget of 3.148 billion yuan. The 14th five-year Plan clearly aims at frontier areas such as brain science.

Therefore, brain science is a mysterious field in biological science. From this point, brain science will become a very important field in the development of life science in the future. Brain science is a frontier science, not only in this century, but even in the next century.
