CTOnews.com January 18, the Leica camera officially announced that the Leica SL system is now available for general use of the new rich map Profoto Connect Pro.

The new Profoto Connect Pro acts as a remote control and master control unit between the camera and the flash device, allowing photographers to quickly and accurately adjust the balance between ambient light and flash anytime, anywhere. With a clear and intuitive control design, this compact flasher can operate reliably under all kinds of lighting conditions. Leica said that the new Connect Pro and other Profoto products compatible with Leica will be available in selected Leica stores.

Previously, when Leica photographers used Profoto Baofu's lighting system, they were unable to use TTL automatic exposure and HSS high-speed synchronization. Today, Leica works with Profoto to achieve omni-directional convergence.

Profoto Connect Pro flashers can connect flash, plastic tools, accessories and cameras for simplicity and consistency. Connect Pro has an intuitive and clear interface, stable transmission, coupled with TTL automatic exposure and HSS high-speed synchronization functions, can speed up the work flow of photographers. You don't need to read a complicated manual to use the Connect Pro flasher, you just need to install it on a hot boot. The energy output is fine-tuned by absolute value, and the desired result is obtained. With the AirX connection technology developed by Profoto, information on Connect Pro can be displayed synchronously on mobile phones and tablet Profoto Control applications in real time. With up to 100 available channels, this tool can do a variety of shooting jobs.

CTOnews.com learned that Leica's SL2 and SL2-S full-frame SLRs are the first camera models that are fully compatible with all the features of the Profoto Connect Pro flasher, including the TTL and HSS. Other Leica hot boot cameras currently support X-Sync manual mode and will turn on full-featured support after the corresponding firmware is updated in 2023. It should be noted that SL2 needs to update the firmware to more than 5.0, and SL2-S needs to update the firmware to more than 4.0 in order to turn on the full-function support of Profoto Connect Pro flasher.
