According to the African Space Industry Report released in 2022, the output value of Africa's satellite and space industry in 2021 was US $19.49 billion (currently about RMB 131.947 billion). By 2026, this figure is expected to reach 22.64 billion US dollars (currently about 153.273 billion yuan).

Djibouti Republic is an African country. In recent years, Djibouti has actively participated in the construction of "One Belt and One Road." Because it is located at the southern entrance of the Red Sea, on the waterway leading to Suez Canal and connecting the three continents of Asia, Africa and Europe, Djibouti has an important strategic position.

The MOU signed this time not only involves the construction of seven satellite launching pads and three rocket test beds, but also includes supporting projects such as power stations, water plants, space ports, roads and ports. The scope of the MOU is quite extensive.

At present, commercial satellites are mostly launched from Wenchang Space Launch Site and Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center of China in the mode of "shared rocket," i.e.,"one arrow with multiple satellites." Facing the doubling demand for commercial satellite launch in China in recent years, the launch station has already experienced the situation of "supply exceeds demand." Therefore, the establishment of a space port in Djibouti will break the limitation of the existing scheduling launch system and have a positive impact on business development.
