Compared with the fourth quarter of 2021, the market shrank by 17% in the fourth quarter of 2022. Shipments for the whole year of 2022 fell 11% to less than 1.2 billion units.

In terms of specific share, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi ranked in the top three in the fourth quarter of 2022, and Apple's share soared to 25%, surpassing Samsung.

Compared with the fourth quarter of 2021, Apple's share increased by 2%, Samsung and OPPO increased by 1%, and Xiaomi fell by 2%.

In 2022, Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi ranked in the top three, with a market share of 22%, 19% and 13%, respectively.

CTOnews.com has learned that for 2023, Canalys forecasts that the entire market will be "flat to marginal growth". According to analyst Le Xuan Chiew, suppliers will be cautious about 2023, giving priority to profitability and protecting market share, and reducing costs "to adapt to new market realities".
