CTOnews.com, January 18 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Dropbox announced today that it is expanding support for Apple's macOS 12.5 and later systems, and all users will receive updates by April 2023.

Dropbox users whose source Pixabay has not yet received support for the macOS 12.5 update are expected to get an update between now and the end of May. Anyone interested in preemptively experiencing the Dropbox version that supports macOS 12.5 can now join the Beta beta.

Dropbox Basic, Plus, Professional, and Family program customers simply open the previous version and pay attention to the notification of choosing to join the Beta beta, while Standard, Advanced, Enterprise, and Education customers need to contact the account team or customer support.

Dropbox added that it also works directly with a small number of customers with complex configurations to ensure that they migrate to the new system as smoothly as possible.

CTOnews.com learned that with the release of macOS Monterey 12.3 in March 2022, Apple abandoned kernel extensions used by cloud storage services such as Dropbox and OneDrive, making it impossible for users to open online-only files stored on Dropbox or OneDrive in third-party applications after updates.

Dropbox had previously said it would start releasing an updated version of its Mac application to Beta testers in March 2022, and then announced in August that a public beta version of Beta would be released in the early fourth quarter of 2022.
