The intrepid contract Championship Tour (VCT) will open a new chapter with the preseason invitational tournament, with 32 top teams from February 14 to March 5 heading to the Iberapuela Stadium in S ã o Paulo for three weeks of fierce competition.

The preseason invitational tournament will bring together every team from the Americas, the Pacific and the EMEA International League, and two Chinese teams will be specially invited to participate in the competition, namely EDG and FPX. The winning team of the preseason invitational tournament will win an extra seat for their division at the 2023 Masters.

The fist game said that after considering a variety of options, it was found that the single knockout system would be the ideal choice to ensure the participation of all teams. It is believed that this is the best way to start the 2023 season, but the double-defeat knockout system will continue to be used in future international competitions.

CTOnews.com learned that in order to maximize the number of matches in the pre-season invitational tournament, a random draw process was implemented in which teams from different divisions were matched in the first round, while at the same time trying to increase the possibility of inter-district confrontation in the second round.

First of all, each division will pair up for 16 first-round matches, with two teams participating in each match.

Each team seat will be assigned a random number from 1 to 10, corresponding to the 32 teams participating in the competition. (American Division 1-10 Magna EMEA Division 1-10, Pacific Division 1-10, Chinese team 1-2). In order to maximize the diversity of regional competition, Chinese teams will be matched with teams from the Americas and EMEA divisions.

Secondly, 16 games are divided into two groups and a single knockout system is adopted to maximize the inter-district confrontation in the first two rounds. This competition is divided into two half zones: Alpha and Omega:

Finally, the random draw is divided into 32 teams assigned to a number from 1 to 10, and the corresponding division and team will generate the final grouping.
