CTOnews.com, January 17 (Xinhua) Apple's new 16-inch MacBook Pro model has up to 22 hours of battery life, the longest battery life available on the Mac.

CTOnews.com learned that both the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have an hour longer battery life than the previous generation, increasing the 14-inch model from 17 hours to 18 hours and the 16-inch model from 21 hours to 22 hours. For comparison, the M1 and M2 MacBook Air both offer 18 hours of battery life, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro offers 20 hours of battery life.

It is not clear whether this is achieved by increasing battery capacity, but Apple says M2 Pro and M2 Max chips improve efficiency, extend battery life and reduce the amount of energy they consume during their lifetime compared to previous generations of M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
