It is said that people who play photography have the following two situations, which may be due to economic problems: first, Polaroid does not need to use Fuji, and second, regular film does not need to use film film.

Due to the delay in the resumption of film supply, and for some other reasons, film sold at 70 yuan in Japan costs 99 yuan at home, more and more film film onto the stage of history. Even the washing shop that I often work with has not outsourced ECN2 and built a set of equipment on its own.

I never played movie rolls before, but I thought, except for damn carbon, wouldn't it be used as C41?

Film film has a special carbon layer, because the exposure mode of film film is different from photography, it is continuous exposure, one after another, it will encounter interference that ordinary photography will not encounter.

Therefore, in order to develop film film, you need to remove this layer of carbon first. If you don't remove it and stuff it directly into the machine, it will pollute the development pool and dirty all the other films developed together. Therefore, the film roll can not be developed directly with the C41 standard, but the ECN2 of the carbon removal process is added. On the market, ECN2 flushing is generally 10-15 yuan more expensive than C41. In the past, many development shops did not have the ability of ECN2, so they had to be sent to some film studios to deal with them, but now many development shops can develop independently.

And the film volume will certainly not be sold to you one by one, basically are sub-packaged, and there are no manufacturers, are made by small workshops themselves, the manufacturer is Kodak.

ECN2 is more expensive than C41 and will take longer to wait. In the past, movies were actually more expensive than those junk lottery negatives, so even in the film world, it was a relatively minority way to play. However, the price of the film is relatively stable, and now it is much cheaper than the junk lottery, so it has naturally become the choice of many people. This is not what China is like, it is almost worldwide.

So, someone thought of the business opportunity, and there was decarbonization film. Is to remove the carbon layer in advance, so that you can happily rinse with C41, which seems convenient and cheap.

Of course, there is nothing so cheap in the world. This kind of film is more expensive than film repackaging. In fact, the cost of ECN2 development is spread to the film price.

For example, the price of 5203 sub-packaged negatives now used outside is about 40 yuan, plus 40 yuan of ECN2 cleaning fee, the cost is about 80. And 5203 of the decarbonization roll is about 60-70, plus about 25 of the C41 cleaning fee, but also more expensive than the movie roll! And some decarbonization negatives need more than 80 rolls.

Let me get this straight: if you want to play with movie scrolls, you can just buy sub-packaged ones, not carbon scrolls.

Because the carbon removal roll is really crappy.

Carbon removal rolls have been sold higher than ordinary film, but carbon is not necessarily clean. As far as I know, when the main washing shops in Shanghai encounter carbon removal rolls, they often ask you to press ECN2, because many stores have encountered the problem of carbon removal and pollution.

Originally, this film of yours is already more expensive than others, but the developer does not dare to use C41 to help you develop it, so you need money.

It is not that the washing shop is unscrupulous and insists that there is a problem with the money, but it is impossible for the washing shop to accept the risk of carbon removal. So what was originally done by a movie roll and an ECN2 becomes very complicated because of carbon removal.

There's a leak down there.

Apart from the beginning of the normal repackaged film, there is usually no light leakage inside, and my own repackaged film will not leak out. However, in addition to carbon roll, there is a carbon removal process, and this kind of film is basically made by small workshops, so the quality control is very poor, there will be a variety of light leakage.

What I encountered this time is a little red dot, which may have been sub-packed in the darkroom and leaked out. I have also seen friends appear vertical bars, and so on. This kind of situation will not occur in general film rolls. Only this kind of secondary processing film, and it is not formal processing, will there be this kind of problem.

When the film volume is scanned, the performance of different scanners is completely different, which generally needs to be adjusted later, but it is basically twisted back, depending on what kind of color performance you want. The decarbonization roll I used this time is not badly scraped. I have tested a batch of Russian film before. In fact, those are also decarbonization film rolls, but I did not know at that time that they were so powerful that the color mask was scraped off and the negatives were transparent.

As for the result, what else can I do? I don't even know her mother.

I took a look, the effect of SP3000 is better than HS1800, the performance is more direct, HS1800 green is a word, love is a light.

On the whole, the color deviation and shortcomings of this 5203 50D decarbonization roll are very similar to those of PROIMAGE100 in the case of direct scanning, but because it is a movie volume, coupled with scanning problems will be more unstable.

The exposure environment and situation itself will affect the picture, so the color deviation of each picture is not the same. If it were not for the sun, it would be greener. This time I also shot a roll of LOMO Met, and I found that in the absence of sunlight, the hair color of 5203 without carbon is very similar to that of Met.

Of course, this article does not discuss the problem of color correction of film volumes. Because some people really like this green, or red color.

In conclusion, no matter for economic considerations or practical results, it is not as convenient and cost-effective to buy carbon removal rolls and develop them according to C41 as to buy movie rolls directly and develop them according to ECN2.
