However, there is also positive news. CTOnews.com learned that chip manufacturing giant TSMC recently said that the trend of tight supply is expected to ease. Wei Zhigang, chief executive of TSMC, told analysts on a conference call: "the demand for cars continues to grow and we may still not be able to supply 100% of the wafers they need, but the situation is improving. We expect the shortage to ease soon and car shipments to grow again this year."
