CTOnews.com January 17, Micron announced yesterday that the company's DDR5 server memory portfolio for data centers has been validated in the fourth-generation Intel Xeon scalable processor family.

According to reports, the memory bandwidth provided by Meguiar DDR5 has doubled compared with previous generations of products. Upgrading to DDR5 will lead to higher bandwidth, helping to fully unleash the computing power of each processor, thereby alleviating the performance bottlenecks it may face in the coming years.

CTOnews.com learned that Micron data showed that SPECjbb improved performance by nearly 49 per cent over previous generations in benchmark tests of critical jOPS (Java runs per second).

In addition to higher memory bandwidth and stronger performance, Meguiar DDR5 memory also has functions such as on-chip error correction code (ODECC) and limited failure, which can improve the reliability of the entire data center. The ODECC function corrects single-bit errors and detects multi-bit errors.

Meguiar said that by working with Lenovo, Meguiar DDR5 combined with fourth-generation Intel Xeon 8480H platinum processors to increase the processing capacity of SAP workloads by 43 per cent compared with the combination of Micron DDR4 and third-generation Intel Xeon 8380 platinum processors.
