January 17, according to foreign media reports, a week after submitting the application for the expansion of the Texas super factory, Tesla has now submitted a new application to build a mold workshop in the Texas super factory at a cost of 59 million US dollars (currently about 397 million yuan).

Construction of the building, which will cover an area of more than 107000 square feet, will begin on January 30 and is expected to be completed on February 19, 2024, Tesla said in the application document.

Texas Super Factory is Tesla's fifth factory after Nevada Super Factory, New York Super Factory, Shanghai Super Factory and Berlin Super Factory, and it is also the fourth car assembly plant after Fremont, Shanghai and Berlin, which currently produces only Model Y.

Musk said that in addition to producing Model Y, the plant would also produce the first Cybertruck electric pickup truck and Semi electric semitrailer truck.

Recently, Franz von Holzhausen, chief designer of Tesla, said that the design of Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck has been completed and will be put into production soon.

On January 9, last Monday, Tesla just submitted an application to Texas licensing and regulatory authorities for the expansion of the Texas super factory. According to the application documents, the company plans to spend $717 million on four projects at the plant, covering an area of 1.4 million square feet, which will begin later this month and be completed early next year.
