Data show that the postal industry's mailing and delivery business volume completed 139.1 billion pieces in 2022, an increase of 2.7 percent over the same period last year, and the industry's business revenue reached 1.35 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the volume of express delivery business completed 110.58 billion pieces, an increase of 2.1% over the same period last year, and business revenue reached 1.06 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.3% over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that the meeting identified the overall requirements, main expected indicators and key tasks for postal administration in 2023. It is expected that the volume of mailing and delivery business in the postal industry will continue to grow in 2023, and the ability to meet the needs of the people to better use mail will continue to be enhanced; the business revenue of the industry will reach 1.43 trillion yuan, an increase of about 6% over the same period last year; of this total, the revenue from express delivery will reach 1.13 trillion yuan, an increase of about 7% over the same period last year. The satisfaction of postal and express delivery services has improved steadily.

The meeting stressed that it is necessary to adhere to the general tone of the work of seeking progress in the midst of stability, solidly promote the high-quality development of the industry, adhere to the strategy of expanding domestic demand for services, unswervingly deepen the supply-side structural reform of the industry, and adhere to efficient overall planning.
