Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 17 (Xinhua)-- Bloomberg reported on Tuesday that Foxconn has appointed Michael Chiang as the new head of its iPhone assembly business, replacing its long-time head, Wang Charng-yang.

Foxconn declined to comment. Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that supply chain disruptions have been caused by a number of factors in the past few months, resulting in heavy production of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, with the latter being the most affected. At its worst, Apple issued a press release saying that the iPhone 14 Pro was "cutting production," and they expected shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro within weeks or even a month.

At the beginning of this year, after several weeks of downturn, Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant has returned to 90% of its peak capacity, and the supply of Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro has been greatly alleviated.

In addition, according to the usual practice, Apple will launch the iPhone 15 / Pro series of new phones this autumn, and it is reported that Hon Hai's Mission Hills factory in Shenzhen has begun to enter the trial production and introduction service (NPI) of high-end iPhone 15 new phones, highlighting this year's new iPhone contract manufacturing, Hon Hai still maintains a dominant position.

According to the latest data from Hon Hai, the parent company of Foxconn, revenue of NT $629.34 billion (currently about 139.713 billion yuan) in December 2022 increased by 14.2% from the previous month, down 12.3% from a year earlier, still the third highest in the same period of the previous year.
