A total of 7.8 million electric vehicles were sold worldwide last year, the report said. Electric car sales are likely to grow again by 2023. CTOnews.com learned that Sipp Global Mobility said in its report that electric vehicle sales are expected to reach 10 million this year, accounting for 14% of new car sales for the year.

In addition, the report said that although the United States is not as enthusiastic about electric vehicles as other markets, overall sales of electric vehicles have also increased. Other data show that US carmakers sold 807180 electric vehicles last year, up 2.6 per cent from the previous year. Electric vehicles accounted for 5.8% of all car sales in the United States in 2022, the report said.
