This is a high school chemistry lesson:

Okay, here's a page-by-page look at my design ideas.

01. cover

With a group of line drawing experimental pictures, quite have the taste of the chemistry examination paper, but not good-looking, and there is no cover feeling.

Therefore, it is recommended to find a group of chemically related pictures to assist in design:

Which one would you choose?

Maybe your first reaction would be to choose the beaker in the lower left corner, which is kind of experimental, but the DNA double helix structure appears in the background, which is more like biology, and the same rules rule out the upper left corner.

Next, we will consider the photos of the laboratory, and the approximate effect is as follows:

Actually, this one's okay.

However, the laboratory photos on the Internet are all conceptual, and most middle schools should not have laboratories with such conditions. The first feeling and the carbon dioxide method are not highly compatible.

Finally, there are still photos of the beaker:

It is consistent with the elements on the cover of the manuscript and is easily reminiscent of chemical experiments.

So pick one of them and add the theme:

Because the beaker itself is relatively large, the text is squeezed to the top, and the composition is somewhat full. So consider using a left-right layout:

By cropping the subject to the right and the theme to the left, the breath of the picture comes out.

This version is actually quite good, but the gray tone is a little dim, simply replace it with blue photos will look a lot better:

The crease in the middle appears when the picture is cut and spliced, but it just has the feeling of a kind of album fold, full of advanced feeling.

02. Teletext page

A long paragraph of text plus pictures, a very common type of page.

However, since the pictures are not good enough, they affect the aesthetic feeling, so first find a group of better pictures to replace them:

And break the text into two paragraphs, it will be easier to read.

Finally, a little innovation in the image layout is complete:

The circle was chosen because it matched the intention of bubbles and echoed the intention of carbon dioxide gas.

03. Lab Page

The notes on the experiment are introduced. The large text on the left is a little crowded, and the connecting lines are also very chaotic. You can make a preliminary arrangement:

Next, to establish a graphic association, the way the lines are connected can be retained, but to avoid line crossings.

Then the central layout can solve this problem very well:

The characters are evenly arranged on both sides of the experimental diagram, providing operation space for line connection.

04. Usage page

It introduces the use of carbon dioxide, but it is all words and slightly boring.

Adding a few real photos can make people feel more intuitive:
