According to pictures posted on the Internet, a hacker forum abroad leaked the information of dozens of suspected "China Airlines" passengers on January 4 and January 11, respectively, including Lai Qingde, deputy leader of the Democratic Progressive Party, Zhang Zhongmou, founder of TSMC, Liu Deyin, chairman of TSMC, Gou Taiming, founder of Hon Hai, Liu Yangwei, chairman of Hon Hai, Wang Guocai, head of the transportation department of the Taiwan authorities, and Wu Zhaoxie, head of the foreign affairs department of the Taiwan authorities. And artists Lin Zhiling, Xu Ruoyi and so on. The leaked information includes passengers' names, birthdays, email addresses and mobile phone numbers.

The hackers did not mention the amount of extortion, but said that as China Airlines has been slow to admit the leakage of personal data, it will continue to publish the hacker intrusion path, the list of the "China Airlines" system and the database of 3 million members, and encourage members whose personal data have been leaked to file class action.

CTOnews.com learned that on January 14, China Airlines issued a statement saying that after an inventory, the suspected leaked passenger information circulated on the Internet did not match the company's database. China Airlines once again strongly condemns illegal acts and will cooperate fully with the police investigation. China Airlines also reminded passengers to change their passwords regularly to protect the security of their personal data.
