Brotli:
A general lossless compression algorithm that uses a combination of a modern variant of the LZ77 algorithm, Huffman coding, and second-order context modeling to compress data with a compression ratio comparable to the best general compression method currently available. Its speed is similar to that of deflate, but provides more intensive compression.
Fast LZMA2:
A LZMA2 compression algorithm that is 20% to 100% faster than a normal LZMA2 at level 5 and above, but with a slightly lower compression ratio. It uses parallel buffer cardinality matchers and some optimizations of Zstandard. Codecs use much less extra memory per thread than standard LZMA2.
Lizard:
Is a fast decompression of the efficient compressor. It achieves the same compression ratio as zip / zlib and zstd / brotli (at low and medium compression levels) at 1000 MB/s and faster decompression speed.
Level 10.. 19 (fastLZ4) is designed to provide a decompression speed of about 10% higher than that of LZ4
Level 20.. 29 (LIZv1) is designed to provide a better ratio than LZ4 and maintain a 75% decompression speed.
Level 30.. 39 (fastLZ4 + Huffman) adds Huffman coding to fastLZ4
Level 40.. 49 (LIZv1 + Huffman) gives the best ratio, comparable to zlib and lower-level zstd / brotli, but with faster decompression speed
LZ4:
Lossless compression algorithm that provides a compression speed of 400 MB/s (0.16byte / cycle) per core. It has extremely fast decoders, and the speed of each core is GB / s (0.71byte / cycle). A highly compressed derivative called LZ4_HC can be used in exchange for customizable CPU time for compression ratio.
LZ5:
Is a modification of LZ4 to achieve a better ratio at the cost of slower compression and decompression. It has now been replaced by Lizard.
Zstandard:
A real-time compression algorithm that provides a high compression rate. It provides a very wide range of compression / speed tradeoffs and is supported by very fast decoders.
