This special campaign was launched on December 27, focusing on some authors and businesses falsely publicizing ordinary goods with aphrodisiac and weight loss effects in live rooms or short videos, or using obscure hints as gimmicks to carry out false publicity. The platform emphasizes that violations also include, but are not limited to, the use of words, pictures, oral broadcasts, props, etc., to express or imply the effects of aphrodisiac and weight loss through channels such as product packaging, commodity details pages, flying pigeons, live broadcast or short video content. The platform strictly controls offending merchants and creators, and takes punitive measures such as suspension of business for rectification, deduction of deposit, withdrawal of shops, freezing of illegal payments, prohibition of broadcasting authority, shutdown of e-commerce functions, deduction of credit scores, and so on.

Douyin e-commerce official said that false publicity seriously infringes upon the rights and interests of consumers, but also has a bad impact on the ecology of the platform, the platform will adhere to strict management, to protect the rights and interests of consumers and health from damage.
