CTOnews.com news on January 16, today 06:56 (17:56 Eastern time on January 15), SpaceX at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida, the United States, the use of heavy Falcon on a secret USSF-67 mission.

This is also the fifth flight of the SpaceX Falcon heavy rocket. The main payload of the USSF-67 mission, a communications satellite called continuous broadcast enhanced Satellite Communications 2 (CBAS 2), was sent to a geostationary orbit about 35700 km above Earth.

CBAS-2 will "provide communications relay capabilities to support senior leaders and operational commanders," U.S. space force officials said in an emailed statement on January 13, with a mission to enhance existing military satellite communications capabilities and continuously broadcast military data over space-based satellite relay links.

CTOnews.com learned that the payload for this task is also the LDPE-3A ESPAStar platform. According to EverydayAstronaut.com, LDPE-3A will carry five payloads for the U.S. Space Force, including Catcher and WASSAT for the Space Systems Command (SSC), and three payloads for the U.S. Space Force Rapid capability Office.

Us Space Force officials previously said the three payloads included "two prototypes to enhance situational awareness and a prototype encryption / interface encryption payload that provides secure air-to-ground communication capabilities".
