According to the power plant, Tencent reported the recent anti-corruption situation in an email sent to all staff on January 10. a total of 48 people (excluding previously reported cases) were punished for violating "Tencent High Voltage Line" for illegal acts such as job embezzlement, illegal misappropriation of funds, commercial bribery or improper internal management, including grass-roots employees and cadres such as team leaders. It also includes middle-level cadres such as the deputy general manager of the business department.

Some people from inside Tencent said that the relevant emails were regularly notified by sunshine and had nothing to do with Tencent CEO Ma Huateng's statement about "internal corruption" at the annual meeting. However, compared with previous reports, CTOnews.com reported the largest number of people in previous penalties.

At an internal meeting last month, Ma Huateng said that Tencent had stepped up its internal audit and internal control this year, resulting in a large number of internal corruption problems and involving some middle-level cadres. "I didn't know why a lot of our business couldn't do it until I read the results of the investigation. Of course we can't do it. With so many loopholes being exploited, it's impossible to afford it."

Ma Huateng told the staff that the internal corruption problem is "really shocking" and that many businesses cannot be done, not because of the problems of managers or business direction, but because the corruption loopholes are too large and the business has been hollowed out.

Ma Huateng said that this year, Tencent has also introduced digital capabilities into anti-fraud. All Tencent's claims and data from external suppliers are collected. Internal audit and internal control can find most of the low-level problems through big data's analysis. Tencent will continue to build this capability next year.
