According to the data, LSMC's revenue in the fourth quarter of 2022 fell to 14.363 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 3.189 billion yuan), down 25 percent from the previous month. Total revenue in 2022 was 76.087 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 16.891 billion yuan), up 16 percent from a year earlier.

Liji said that the capacity utilization rate in the fourth quarter of last year was more than 70%. As the average selling price of DRAM was close to cost and would no longer be used to fill capacity, capacity utilization was expected to drop to more than 60% in the first quarter of this year.

CTOnews.com learned that looking forward to the first quarter, LSMC expects revenue to decline by 15% in the first quarter of this year compared with the previous quarter, have the opportunity to keep the performance flat in the second quarter, and is expected to improve in the second half of the year. The situation should be clearer in February and March.

In terms of capital expenditure, LSMC's capital expenditure in 2022 was $650 million (about 4.368 billion yuan), less than the expected $840 million (about 5.645 billion yuan). Capital expenditure this year is estimated to be about $1.84 billion (about 12.365 billion yuan), mainly in gong factories, while the rest is invested in non-gong factories and some factories.
