After networking, Qilu-1 is mainly used for earth observation in the fields of land and resources, agriculture and forestry, environmental protection monitoring, transportation, and disaster prevention and reduction.

In addition, Qilu-Jin Bauhinia 6 satellite is a micro-nano optical satellite jointly developed by Shandong Industry and Research Institute and Hong Kong Aviation Science Group, equipped with meter-level high-resolution light and small optical cameras to observe payloads. It is mainly used to verify the integrated satellite-ground measurement, operation, management and control service capability and intelligent image processing algorithm, and provides the technical basis and operation scheme for the follow-up large-scale operation of Qilu satellite agricultural constellation.

The successful satellite launch marks the initial completion of Qilu Satellite Constellation, an independent and controllable remote sensing satellite infrastructure in Shandong Province. Shandong Industrial Research Institute takes the technological innovation of the air and space information industry as a breakthrough and relies on Qilu satellite. The Institute of Industry and Research will also jointly carry out the construction of carbon satellite constellations for key enterprises and park carbon emission monitoring in conjunction with the Micro Satellite Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jinan start-up area. It is planned to complete the first phase of the network of 10 carbon satellites in 2025, with high-precision carbon emission monitoring for 10000 key targets around the world.

According to reports, the Industry and Research Institute will speed up the construction of the Qilu-Yellow River satellite constellation, which is composed of two high-resolution optical satellites and two high-resolution radar satellites, to form the operational acquisition capability of satellite images of 0.5 meters or higher, and to expand the existing in-orbit satellite data sources and application capabilities. After all the above satellite constellations are completed, Qilu satellite constellation will have a complete space-to-earth observation capability.
