The most successful element is paid iCloud storage, which, combined with the use of iPhone, iPad, and Mac, makes it "relatively unaffected by competitive services".
Apple's extended warranty service, AppleCare, was the least successful, with only 4 per cent of iPhone and 7 per cent of iPad customers paying for it. CIRP believes that this is because "there are numerous competitors in the extended coverage market", and mobile operators and other operators also have an advantage in selling iPhone and its services.
Among other Apple services, only 1/3 of Apple users use Apple Music. To grow in a mature market like streaming music, Apple "needs to convince customers to give up their existing services".
Apple TV+ lags behind Apple Music with a permeability of 28%. Similarly, fierce competition is a problem here, but because each service has its own original content, consumers have more opportunities to pay for a variety of services.
About 1/5 of Apple users subscribe to Apple News; and more than 1/4 of Apple users subscribe to Apple podcasts. Every company faces fierce competition. Apple News competes with "a wide range of national and local news media" and Apple Podcasts competes head-on with Spotify.
