CTOnews.com January 14 news, wafer foundry Liji Electric held a law meeting on January 13, general manager Xie Zaiju said that his capital expenditure this year is estimated to be about $1.84 billion (currently about 12.365 billion yuan), mainly in gong factory investment of 78%, the rest is non-gong factory investment.

According to the meeting, capital expenditure this year is estimated to be about US $1.84 billion, mainly in gong factories, while the rest is invested in non-gong factories and some factories. If the relevant investment is in place, the amount of investment is expected to increase by 183% over last year, mainly including last year's deferred investment. Due to the adjustment of industrial inventory, Liji still takes a conservative view of the operation in the first quarter of this year.

Liji said capital expenditure of $650 million in 2022 was lower than expected of $840 million, including capacity downgrades and delays in the installation of gongs, as well as postponement of 12x8-inch machines.

Xie Zaiju said that the clean room of the gong factory is about to be in place, and the follow-up goal is to complete the product certification. although the gong factory has made no contribution to revenue this year, it will generate operating expenses of NT $2 billion.

It is expected to start production in phases in 2023, when the monthly production capacity will reach 100, 000 pieces, with an annual output value of more than 60 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 13.32 billion yuan).

When asked about the Taiwan chip bill, Xie Zaiju said that it is still not very helpful to companies. It may be of great help to TSMC, but it does not have much impact on small companies. It is hoped that the government should encourage and expand policy support in terms of investment.

According to the latest financial report, the net operating income of LSMC Q4 is NT $14.36 billion, reaching NT $76.09 billion for the whole year (currently about NT $16.892 billion); the gross operating profit of Q4 is NT $5 billion and NT $35.58 billion (currently about NT $7.899 billion); and the net profit of Q4 is NT $2.81 billion and NT $263.3 billion for the whole year (currently about NT $5.845 billion).
