As the smartphone panel market enters the traditional off-season in the first quarter of 2023, prices remain in a downward cycle and the decline is widening, CINNO Research reported. Affected by the sluggish overall panel demand and the downward squeeze of AMOLED panel prices, the price of a-Si / LTPS panel will decline at a rate of 0.40 US dollars per month; the price of AMOLED panel will continue to compete fiercely, especially flexible AMOLED panel, in some product items the price will be lower than that of rigid AMOLED panel.

A-Si: the supply and demand structure of a-Si panel is still loose, the price continues to decline, and the price keeps declining in January, and the decline expands, declining at a rate of 0.40 US dollars per month. HKC Mianyang G8.6 production line and other emerging forces are still mainly shipped in the South China white market. If the expansion of the brand client in 2023 is smooth, the price of a-Si panel will continue to fall.

LTPS: Japanese display (JDI) may no longer supply domestic LTPS mobile phone projects in the first quarter of 2023, and the current cooperative OPPO / vivo / Xiaomi / Samsung and other terminal brands will pay more attention to domestic LTPS panel manufacturers in the choice of suppliers, but due to the impact of the continuous decline in flexible AMOLED prices on LTPS, there are fewer new LTPS projects at present, and the operation dilemma of the main LTPS panel factory still can not be fundamentally solved.

AMOLED: affected by the downturn in the overall panel market, the growth rate of demand for AMOLED mobile phone panels slows down, and the market continues to exceed demand, especially flexible AMOLED panels, where price competition is fierce. On some product items, the price is expected to fall below the price level of rigid AMOLED panels in the first half of the year, which will have a great impact on the product demand of rigid AMOLED panels and LTPS panels.

CTOnews.com learned that the report predicts that smartphone panel prices will continue to decline in the absence of obvious positive factors in demand, with a-Si / LTPS panels falling by $0.40 per month in January and February 2023; rigid AMOLED panels will continue to fall by $0.50; and flexible AMOLED panels may fall by $1.50.
