CTOnews.com Jan. 14 News According to a quickly deleted Google plan file, upcoming devices will begin installing Fuchsia.

Over the past few years, Google has updated the original Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max smart slightly to support Fuchsia running instead of "Cast OS."

Fuchsia developers recently submitted a new document explaining the upcoming project. 9to 5 Google release, Fuchsia will get support for JavaScript development, designed to make it easier to manage and control device features. More specifically, work is ongoing to support the "factory," where new equipment is tested in production.

More importantly, JavaScript support for Fuchsia is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023, as Fuchsia-enabled devices will be manufactured in the near future.

CTOnews.com has learned that two upcoming Google devices have been added to the Fuchsia code in recent months, both smart slightly devices. One appears to be a low-end device, possibly a Pixel Tablet docking station with speakers or a third-generation Nest Mini, while another looks like a full Nest Audio new product with UWB connectivity.

Google's next flagship Nest speaker-expected in fall 2023 or spring 2024-is likely to be the first device to install Fuchsia by default.

Either way, it's an important step forward for Fuchsia within Google, the hardware division will use it more widely, and 2023 will be a pivotal year for Fuchsia hardware.
