CTOnews.com, January 14 (Xinhua)-- the National Company Law Court of Appeal (NCLAT) of India has rejected Google's antitrust fine of 9.36 billion rupees ($115 million) and asked Google to pay a 10% fine in the next four weeks. Google released an official blog post today, listing a number of evidence to defend itself.

CTOnews.com learned that the Competition Commission, India's antitrust regulator, imposed an antitrust fine of 9.36 billion rupees on Google in October last year on the grounds that Google abused its dominant position in the app store market to promote its own payment system.

CCI believes that Google's requirement for developers to use its payment system to buy paid apps and pay for in-app purchases constitutes unfair competition and violates relevant regulations. At the same time, Google's failure to include its own applications, such as YouTube, in its billing system is tantamount to imposing discriminatory terms and pricing.

Google refutes CCI's view in its latest blog post. In its blog post, Google stressed that Android has greatly promoted the development of Jandhan-Aadhar-Mobile Trinity (Jan Dhan is everyone's bank account, Aadhar is everyone's ID card, and Mobile is the mobile phone), providing electronic devices during the COVID epidemic and providing more jobs in India.

Google said in a blog post that every change in the Android version wanted to prevent it from becoming "a rigid, predictable ecosystem". Google believes that OEM vendors provide users with consistent security updates, making Google's security features unavailable. Google also believes that application developers have raised the price of applications, resulting in higher barriers for users to use.
