This launch mission also carries and launches two small satellites, namely Test 22 A developed by the eighth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group and Test 22 B developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Test 22 An is mainly used in the fields of land census, urban planning and disaster prevention and reduction, while Test 22 B is mainly used in haze detection, water pollution monitoring, crop growth monitoring and land and resources census.

Its sun-synchronous circular orbit has a carrying capacity of 1.3 tons (700 km).

This launch is the 73rd launch of the long March 2D carrier rocket and the 461st launch of the long March series of carrier rockets.
