Zhang Jianhua also said that at present, 53 nuclear power units are in operation in China, with an installed capacity of 55.57 million kilowatts, accounting for nearly 5% of the power generation capacity; 28 units have been approved for construction, with an installed capacity of 32.72 million kilowatts, and are under steady construction. Over the years, China's nuclear power units have maintained a good safety record, no operational events affecting the environment and public safety have occurred, and the main operational indicators have always maintained international advanced levels.
