CTOnews.com, January 13-Google and Porsche are negotiating a possible deal to allow the use of Google Apps in the Porsche cockpit. The focus of the deal is access to Google Maps, the report added.

Lutz Meschke, chief financial officer of Tuyuan Pexels Porsche, previously said the company was in close contact with Google and Apple, as well as China's Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba, after ending its software development partnership with Volkswagen's Cariad division.

Porsche has been reluctant to use Google software because Google requires too much data to be shared, even though Volkswagen brand Audi allows its customers to connect their vehicles to Android phones, according to Manager Magazin.

Porsche executives traveled to the United States at the end of 2021 to discuss possible partnerships with Apple, the maker of iPhone, whose CarPlay software is already used in Porsche cars.

CTOnews.com learned that after listing on the stock exchange in September last year, Porsche overtook its former parent company Volkswagen to become the most valuable carmaker in Europe, reporting earlier on Thursday that car deliveries would increase by 3 per cent in 2022.
