CTOnews.com, January 13 (Xinhua)-- Google's new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones, as well as the Pixel 6a released earlier last year, still do not support 5G networks in India, although they are officially sold in India. Google said Apple also recently updated its iPhone mobile phone system to support India's 5G network, as did Samsung. Still, the search giant is a little behind schedule.

CTOnews.com learned that in an official statement, Google promised to launch a 5G OTA update sometime in the first quarter of 2023. The original schedule was last December, but Google obviously skipped the ticket.

Google said in a statement that it is working closely with Indian operators to achieve next-generation connectivity and comply with local regulations and standards. Xiaomi, which has many 5G-capable phones in India, is also upgrading.
