Compared with the 135 camera, which is relatively fixed and simple to operate, the practicability of the 120 camera is particularly prominent. To be practical, to put it simply, we can get our satisfactory photos more efficiently with a relatively standardized process. To discuss the usefulness of 120, the first thing to discuss is not the machine, but the picture.
The biggest difference between 120 and 135 is that it can have multiple frames, and some 120 cameras can even adjust the frame.
The common 120 pictures are 645, 6, 6, 6, 67, 69, 68, and two widths, 612 and 617, which are relatively rare, and since they are rare, they are naturally not used or practical. Although sometimes you will hear that the scenery of 617 photography is not comparable to your lens angle, listening to others and operating a 617 photo are two different things.
Among the various frames, 645 and 66 are the most practical, compared with 67, while 69 is actually a technical frame, with fewer cameras to choose from, less space to play, and, of course, more film consumption.
The larger the frame of the 120 camera, the larger the volume. Although there are 67 cameras that look portable, they only look portable. In fact, the 67 side axes, such as the Mamia 7pm MAKINA67, are also very large and not convenient to hold in the hand.
However, among the many 67 cameras, I personally think the Fuji GF670 is a very practical one, but the disadvantage is that it is very expensive, but it is not very expensive, anyway, it is cheaper than Leica M.
Fuji GF670 can be said to be the last advanced 120. it was a flash in the pan in the digital age, the body was designed and manufactured by COSINA, and the lens is a simple but very practical 80max 3.5 with a moderate angle and an aperture 3.5 is not small in the 67 camera. In general, when the frame is as large as 67, the header structure will not be too complicated.
Its performance is as follows, very simple.
It is said that it is practical. First of all, its mode of operation is the classic paraxial macular focus. If there is nothing wrong with the camera, then the focus is convenient and the accuracy is high. Although its ranging baseline is not very long, it does not need to change the lens and does not need to use a medium-long focal head. So this baseline is enough. GF670 can be used in a few minutes for friends who have played with the side axle, even for those who have not played with the side shaft, its operation principle is also very simple.
Second, the GF670 with A file, it can be automatically exposed, although the fuselage automatic exposure is often unreliable, but this is indeed a very practical function, can save a lot of trouble. Because there is a file A, there is exposure compensation.
GF670 is not a mechanical camera, but an electronic machine. In fact, a mechanical camera or an electronic camera has nothing to do with practicality and durability. The Nikon F6 we talked about in the first issue of our special issue is a high electronic machine, which is both practical and extremely durable. Nikon's F3, known as the supreme manual SLR, is also an electronic camera. It is true that a mechanical camera can last a little longer than an electronic machine when properly maintained, but if you really play for a long time, you will find that the mechanical phase will have a lot of mechanical failures that drive you crazy.
I think the most practical function of GF670 is that it can switch between 6X6 and 6X7 frames and become a 66 side axle machine, which is rare after World War II.
Compared to MAKINA67,GF670, it is more automatic and practical. Although MAKINA has a domineering 2.8aperture lens, you should know that a large aperture is not a practical function after taking pictures for so long. The bigger the aperture, the better.
You can get some practical descriptions from my above description of GF670. The so-called practical camera, its operation can not be too tedious, too cumbersome is easy to make mistakes. But it can't be too simple, because at that time, electronic technology was not developed enough, cameras were stupid, if you give everything to the camera, it will produce a lot of waste film, film is already very expensive, 120 more expensive.
In general play 120, Hasu 5 series, Lulai double reverse, especially 3.5 is a lot of friends will certainly consider, on the whole, double reverse may be more practical.
Why is Lulai DSLR more practical than Hasu DSLR? We might as well take a look at their original use. Hasu SLR camera used to be a commercial machine, mainly used for indoor lighting shooting, although the operation is done in one fell swoop, not complicated, but it is not easy to hold. After all, Hassel DSLR is more suitable for tripods, and most of the old wizards who use Hassel 5 series will put their cameras on tripods.
But it would be strange to see who put Lulai 2.8line 3.5 on a tripod, because double reversals are for handheld existence. Although Lao Lulai camera's photometry is not very effective, but its overall operation, focus is very easy, the disadvantage is that the waist flat will be upside down, but you use Hasu DSLR waist flat will also be upside down.
Although DSLR is not as expansive as SLR, Lulai DSLR cannot change lenses like Mamia C330, but Mamia C330 is too large and impractical. In our daily photography, Lulai DSLR is satisfied enough.
Of course, Lulai and Hasu, 120 DSLR and 120 DSLR are not contradictory in themselves, and they can all be bought back to play. And the prices of Hasu and Lulai are actually much cheaper than Leica M. Leica M, a lens is very expensive.
This does not mean that there is no practical model for 120DSLR. BRONICA's ETR camera is an example of the practical use of 120DSLR. Although their SQ camera (66 frames) is also good, I personally think that if you have to choose between ETR and SQ, ETR may be better, of course, Mamia's same type of camera is not inferior.
Compared with the Hassel 5 series, the ETR of frame 645 is very small, and the ETR is the smallest model in the 120 SLR. However, the whole machine adopts Hassel operation, overall operation, overlooking operation, and the reflector is manually reset. In addition, it is also equipped with a handle that can link the fuselage, which greatly improves the sense of hand of the camera. Hasu actually has a linkage handle.
Later ETR can be equipped with a special photometric viewfinder, and that viewfinder allows ETR to achieve An exposure, and let ETR have a finer shutter division. Because that light measuring head can do a little light measurement, it is still very practical. However, with the installation of the AEIII photometer top, the volume of the whole ETR will become very large.
However, this kind of 645 SLR can only take 15 shots, but the success rate is high, and it doesn't matter.
Simplicity is not necessarily practical. Why do you say that? Because the fully automatic era of the film machine happens to be the beginning of the fully automatic era, the technology at that time is very backward, especially the autofocus is very inaccurate.
Naturally, the first to bear the brunt is Fuji's GA series. I have to say, the GA series camera is indeed very convenient, it is the only fully automatic 120 side axis series, and the size is compact, it is much more convenient than the same fully automatic 645 SLR.
But the autofocus of the GA series is very rough and inaccurate. In addition, the metering and focusing system of this series of cameras is not TTL, it is independent, and you will encounter the problem of forgetting to take off the lens cap.
All in all, unless it is street sweeping, if you use the GA series as a photo tool, it will produce a lot of waste films, or out of focus photos. Although the GA series can take a full 16 pictures, it is still a loss for a waste film of 5 and 6 pictures.
So in comparison, several auto-focus 645s are still very practical, mainly Mamiya, Pentax, Fuji / Hasu, as well as CONTAX, Mamia and Pentax a little cheaper, Hasu H and CONTAX 645s are expensive.
Compared to the side axis, at least you can see whether the DSLR is aligned or not, such as the fuselage of the Hassel H-series SLR is still in use in the digital age.
If the price problem can be overcome, then these machines are actually more practical. As for the focusing speed, it would be nice to give you autofocus. You don't have to shoot Messi with 120.
