CTOnews.com January 12 news, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers today predicts that China's new energy vehicles will continue to maintain rapid growth in 2023, and sales are expected to exceed 9 million.

According to the China Automobile Association, 2702.1 million and 26.864 million vehicles were produced and sold in 2022, an increase of 3.4 per cent and 2.1 per cent respectively over the same period last year. Among them, new energy vehicles continued to grow explosively, with production and sales of 705.8 and 6.887 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 96.9% and 93.4% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 25.6%.

Judging from the development of the whole year, the China Automobile Association said that automobile production and sales in 2022 increased by 3.4% and 2.1% respectively compared with the same period last year, continuing the growth trend of last year. Among them, passenger vehicles have achieved relatively rapid growth under the pull of policies such as steady growth and promoting consumption, making an important contribution to the small growth of the whole year; commercial vehicles are in the low position of superimposed factors. New energy vehicles continue to grow explosively, with annual sales exceeding 6.8 million vehicles and market share rising to 25.6%, gradually entering a period of comprehensive market expansion and ushering in a new stage of development and growth. Automobile exports continue to maintain a high level and repeatedly set new monthly highs. Since August, the average monthly export volume has exceeded 300000, and the annual export has exceeded 3 million, effectively driving the overall growth of the industry. The performance of Chinese brands is eye-catching, paying close attention to the opportunities for the transformation of new energy and intelligent Internet connection, and the competitiveness of products is constantly improving, of which the market share of passenger cars is close to 50%, a new high in recent years.

CTOnews.com learned that looking forward to 2023, the China Automobile Association said that it believes that with the implementation of relevant supporting policies and measures, it will further stimulate the vitality of the market and consumption, and is full of confidence in the economic improvement for the whole year. In addition, problems such as the shortage of chips in the new year are expected to be greatly alleviated, and the automobile market is expected to continue to show a steady and good development trend in 2023, showing a growth of about 3%.
