CTOnews.com, January 12, China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance today released monthly power battery data for December 2022.

In terms of production, in December, China's power battery production totaled 52.5GWh, an increase of 65.9% over the same period last year and a decrease of 15.8% from the previous month. Among them, ternary battery output 18.5GWh, accounting for 35.2% of the total output, up 61.5% from the same period last year, down 20.5% from the previous year; lithium iron phosphate battery output 33.9GWh, accounting for 64.6% of the total output, up 69.0% from the same period last year, down 13.0% from the previous year. From January to December, the cumulative output of power batteries in China was 545.9GWh, an increase of 148.5% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative output of ternary batteries 212.5GWh, accounting for 38.9% of the total output, increased by 126.4% over the same period last year; the cumulative output of lithium iron phosphate batteries 332.4GWh, accounting for 60.9% of the total output, increased by 165.1% over the same period last year.

In terms of sales, in December, China's power battery sales totaled 52.2GWh, an increase of 47.1% over the same period last year. Among them, ternary battery sales 21.6GWh, accounting for 41.3% of the total sales, an increase of 82.1% over the same period last year; lithium iron phosphate battery sales 30.5GWh, accounting for 58.4% of the total sales, up 29.8% from the same period last year. From January to December, the cumulative sales of power batteries in China reached 465.5GWh, an increase of 150.3% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative sales of ternary batteries 193.5GWh accounted for 41.6% of the total sales, an increase of 143.2% over the same period last year, while the cumulative sales of lithium iron phosphate batteries 271.0GWh, accounting for 58.2% of the total sales, increased by 155.7% over the same period last year.

In December, the battery exports of China's power battery enterprises totaled 9.4GWh. Among them, ternary batteries exported 6.1GWh, accounting for 65.5% of the total exports; lithium iron phosphate batteries exported 3.2GWh, accounting for 34.3% of the total exports. From January to December, the accumulative battery exports of China's power battery enterprises reached 68.1GWh. Among them, ternary batteries exported 46.9GWh, accounting for 68.9% of the total exports, and lithium iron phosphate batteries exported 20.9GWh, accounting for 30.7% of the total exports.

In terms of loading, in December, China's power battery load 36.1GWh, an increase of 37.9% over the same period last year, an increase of 5.5% over the previous month. Among them, ternary battery 11.4GWh accounted for 31.6% of the total installed capacity, up 3.3% from the same period last year and 3.5% from the previous year; lithium iron phosphate battery 24.7GWh accounted for 68.3% of the total installed capacity, up 64.0% from the same period last year and 6.9% from the previous year. From January to December, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 294.6GWh, an increase of 90.7% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative loading of ternary batteries 110.4GWh, accounting for 37.5% of the total installed capacity, an increase of 48.6% over the same period last year; the cumulative loading of lithium iron phosphate batteries 183.8GWh, accounting for 62.4% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative increase of 130.2% over the same period last year.

In December, a total of 41 power battery enterprises were installed in China's new energy vehicle market, 6 fewer than the same period last year. The power battery loads of the top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery companies were 29.1GWh, 31.8GWh and 35.1GWh, accounting for 80.5%, 88.0% and 97.0% of the total installed capacity, respectively. From January to December, a total of 57 power battery enterprises in China's new energy vehicle market were equipped, 1 less than the same period last year, and the top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery enterprises installed 230.4GWh, 251.4GWh and 279.8GWh respectively, accounting for 78.2%, 85.3% and 95.0% of the total, respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance also announced the top 15 domestic power battery installed companies from January to December 2022. Among them, Ningde era firmly ranked first with 48.20%, while BYD, China New Airlines, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Xinwanda ranked 2-5 with 23.45%, 6.53%, 4.52% and 2.62%, respectively. In addition, the 6th to 15th places are Yiwei Lithium Energy, Honeycomb Energy, Funeng Technology, LG New Energy, Ripu Lanjun, Jiewei Power, Zhengli Xinneng, Duofuoduo, Lishen and Penghui Energy.
