This giant device, which has a plane area of more than 3500 square meters and weighs more than 4000 tons, has successfully realized "floating" on the water, indicating that the megawatt wave power generation technology has formally entered a new development stage of engineering practice from theoretical research.

CTOnews.com learned that the data show that the overall conversion efficiency of the megawatt floating wave power generation device can reach 22%. Under the condition of full load, the device can generate 24000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day, which can provide green power for about 3500 households, which is equivalent to adding a large "mobile portable battery" to offshore islands and reefs.

Next, the Guangdong Power Grid Company will carry out the overall integrated debugging of the device, and will conduct real sea condition tests along the coast of Guangdong. In the future, it will be connected to the grid in the far sea, and a new power system demonstration island with wave energy as the main power source will be built.
