CTOnews.com, January 12 (Xinhua) by studying short gamma ray bursts (Short Gamma-Ray Bursts), NASA astronomers found that there was a superheavy neutron star in the black hole before it collapsed. It is believed that overweight neutron stars are formed by the collision of two neutron stars.

A neutron star is formed after the core of a massive star runs out of fuel, and then it collapses. A shock wave is generated during the collapse, blowing away the rest of the star in a supernova explosion. Usually, neutron stars have a larger mass than the sun itself, but when they reach more than a certain mass, they collapse into black holes.

CTOnews.com learned that Cecilia Chilenti (Cecilia Chirenti) said the study was carried out by studying 700 short gamma-ray bursts detected by NASA's Neil Gareth Swift Observatory, Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory and Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope. She is a researcher at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbert and Park at the University of Maryland College.

The results of the study will be presented at the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle. They also mentioned that gamma-ray patterns were discovered in two bursts observed by Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory in the early 1990s.
