CTOnews.com, January 11, the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update for Pixel devices has been released, and there are not many new features. In addition to the new emoji, there are some hidden features, one of which is to force apps on the phone to open theme icons, even if the app itself does not support it.

CTOnews.com learned that this feature is called "ENABLE_FORCED_MONO_ICON" and is described as: "if the application does not provide monochrome icons, enable the ability to generate monochrome icons." In other words, the function of this function is to change the ordinary application icon into a monochrome version of the icon, so that the theme color of the icon can match the wallpaper.

This feature works well with very simple icons, but when the home screen is made up of more stylized application icons, such as Instagram with a colored background, it looks a bit messy.

This feature is still being tested and will not necessarily be added to the Android 13 stable version eventually.
